Unuidesign is the online presence of Editha Fuentes, me. I'm a web and graphic designer with over 9 years of experience in graphic design, web development, and corporate branding. About 7 years ago I moved to California, USA from my beautiful city Santiago, Chile, where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design and Multimedia from the University of Arts and Communications (UNIACC) in 2004.

I started designing when I was a child, drawing and painting in oil, which I kept doing until I finished high school. In class, I usually portrayed my classmates, created logos for fun, or painted my nails, and the only thing I knew for sure during those twelve years was that I wanted to be a designer. Thankfully, I can say that I am one of those people who are lucky to love what they do, day in and day out. Over the years, after working for different organizations, from educational to business-related, and after analyzing how gratifying it was to see my creativity and experience evolve, I came to the conclusion that I wanted to dedicate myself to doing this independently. I was eager to exploit my skills and talent without any boundaries, and in the way that I truly enjoy, love, and feel passionate about: through design.

And so, Unuidesign was born: a full-service design studio that specializes in web, graphic, and high-quality print design, all injected with my professional dedication and my innate passion. My goal is to make every new project my best work to date. I love simplicity and neatness. I'm also pretty workaholic (I must admit), which, together with my perfectionism, leads me to always give the maximum in each and every single one of my projects. Finally, among my interests are music, art, animation, typography, photography, and illustration.

My other loves, besides design, are my family and music. At home I enjoy my life with my husband Nikolai and our son Max, a beautiful (and bilingual) English Springer Spaniel. My husband and I have been married for almost 4 years and he has been a fundamental part of my life from the day I met him. I am fortunate to have an incredible husband, partner, and friend. My parents live far away but I have a connection with them which has remained as deep as when I had them near on a daily basis. They have witnessed the entire process of my formation and professional evolution, both as a designer, and as founder of Unuidesign. Love them!

When I'm not working in my corner, I often think that I can recover sleep. However, when I'm not sleeping, I enjoy going to the movies with my husband and / or friends. We also like to play and go on walks with Max. As a way to relief stress I love going out shopping, sharing a dinner with friends, or listening to music - especially 80's most of the time-. I try to play sports and when there is no excuse, I am also a housewife. I might describe myself as a positive girl, hardworking, self-taught, with few but good friends, an animal lover, and proudly, a vegetarian.

I’ve had a website since 2004, but for many reasons I never had the time to really work on consistently updating my portfolio. So finally, after at least a year of having the intentions (but never the time) of updating the entire site + portfolio, I decided, in October 2009, that I was going to push myself to seriously get it done. The purpose of this redesigned website is to showcase my work and share my thoughts and ideas through my blog. This site was designed and built by me in valid XHTML & CSS using Dreamweaver on an iMac. The graphics were created using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. The Blog is powered by WordPress.
